Puss In Boots is an upcoming 3D computer-animated adventure film being produced by DreamWorks Animation, directed by Chris Miller (who directed Shrek the Third in 2007), executive produced by Guillermo del Toro, starring Antonio Banderas and Salma Hayek, and written by Tom Wheeler. It is set to be released in theaters November 4, 2011 in Real D 3D and IMAX 3D.

India's animation industry likely to hit $1 bn

MUMBAI: The Indian animation market, estimated at USD 494 million in 2008, will likely grow at compounded annual growth rate of 22 per cent till 2012, an industry official has said.

"Globally, the animation industry is poised to touch USD 100 billion by 2012 and India's animation industry is expected to hit USD 1 billion by 2012, aided by increased outsourcing and a growing domestic market," Maya Academy of Advanced Cinematics ( MAAC) Business head, Ram Kumar Worrier said here.

DreamWorks Animation Annnounes Project Line-Up Through 2014

After a great year in 2010 with their animated hit How to Train Your Dragon, DreamWorks Animation has just revealed their full feature film release slate up through 2014. Though sequels like How to Train Your Dragon 2 dominate a third of their slate, there's plenty of original movies like the caveman comedy The Croods on the way along with a couple of adaptations like Mr. Peabody and Sherman. In addition, the animation studio's first spin-off is coming later this year and a film called Turbo which we apparently hadn't heard about previously. Check out their entire line-up below!

Pixar has produced eleven feature films, beginning with Toy Story in 1995. It was followed by A Bug's Life in 1998, Toy Story 2 in 1999, Monsters, Inc. in 2001, Finding Nemo in 2003, The Incredibles in 2004, Cars in 2006, Ratatouille in 2007, WALL-E in 2008, Up in 2009 and Toy Story 3 (to date, the highest-grossing animated film of all-time, grossing over $1 billion worldwide), in 2010. All the eleven films that Pixar has produced have been largely successful, both critically and commercially. The $602 million average gross of their films is by far the highest of any studio in the industry.
